Matinée Cellar Series - NOT... the Usual Suspects
- Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Greenock, SA
With more than 70% of red wine produced in Australia being Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, we can sometimes forget that there are other varieties which are emerging as sensible options both in the vineyard and on our dinner tables. With Tempranillo, Grenache, Zinfandel, Durif and more, we will explore some of the less common varieties grown in Australia with a look at varieties that have found a home on the Kalleske Farm and we hope will enjoy growth in recognition and popularity for the diversity they bring to our palates. Over an indulgent four-course lunch we will find out what these varieties have to offer and how they can fit into our ever more adventurous culinary landscape.
The Matinée Cellar Series is a casual yet informative deep dive into some of the aspects and curiosities of wine we love the most.
Hosted in our underground cellar at Kalleske Cellar Door, we serve wines and light lunch as we explore a themed tasting and guided examination of everything Kalleske
Some of the varieties and styles we will explore will be Chenin Blanc, Semillon, GSM, Zinfandel, Durif, Syrah, Petit Verdot to name a few.
