Matinée Cellar Series - Discovering Grenache... Again?

- Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Greenock, SA
After more than a century and a half in the Barossa, this variety is finally becoming a household name and generating a lot of buzz along the way. Why has it taken so long for Grenache to emerge from the shadows? Is Grenache the future of the Barossa or is it just a Pinot pretender? During this four-course luncheon, we will give Grenache it’s well deserved 15 minutes of fame and put it in the spotlight to answer these questions and discover why so many winemakers have defended and protected this variety in the Barossa for the last 170 years.
The Matinée Cellar Series is a casual yet informative look into some of the aspects and curiosities of wine we love the most.
Hosted in our underground cellar at Kalleske Cellar Door, we serve wines and lunch as we explore a themed tasting and guided examination of everything Kalleske.
Some of the varieties and styles we will explore will of course be Grenache, Grenache and maybe some more Grenache!
